| Norberto Tamburrino -"Thanks For The Riff" Norberto Tamburrino-"Thanks For The Riff" the new album released by Art Notes Records. It's an original collection including eleven tracks in which swing, originality and a certain use of classicism come out. It's the sixth release by Tamburrino, the third one released by Art Notes. There are eight original compositions in this album and in two tracks the pianist is supported by Italian expert bass player Francesco Mariella, also featuring in some previous Tamburrino works ("Deco", Splasc(H), "Reflection(s) on Monk", Philology, "Revelations from the Sky", Art Notes). In this album the artist gives particular attention to some Classics of jazz with deep lirism in "Estate" by Bruno Martino, the Ballad "Body & Soul" performed in a very personal mood and, as well as Tamburrino did in his previous albums, a Thelonious Monk masterpiece is represented here. On last tracks are in evidence two free improvisations ("2010 Itinerary", "Free Impro") that bring us to hear an original pianism with some Classic Aria walking through strong jazz dynamics. This work, that confirms one more time the great creative and productive power of Tamburrino enriching his large collection, is now available in best digital stores. write your comments about the article :: © 2011 Jazz News :: home page |
