The Poison Tree to make Joe's Pub Debut March 23

Rousing Brooklyn music project The Poison Tree, led by former King of France frontman Steve Salett, will play Joe's Pub for the first time on Wednesday, March 23.

The group is set to perform eight days after the release of their self-titled debut (out March 15 on embarque), an album American Songwriter recently called "an innovative indie rock opus." The Poison Tree was recently praised by The Wall Street Journal, which posted the song "Mirror Door" on their 'Speakeasy' blog.

Helmed by Salett's honest, genuine songwriting and lyrical nylon-stringed guitar work, the Poison Tree is composed of a revolving cast of some of New York's finest players. Performing at Joe's Pub with Salett will be Thomas Bartlett, aka Doveman, whose piano and keyboards add a soulful touch to the album.

The Poison Tree most recently played New York on Feb. 8 at Le Poisson Rouge's Burgundy Stain Sessions with Doveman, Norah Jones, Glen Hansard, Justin Bond and others.
