Anuhea to perform at the Hard Rock Café Honolulu Grand Opening

Anuhea and her band will be performing at the Grand Opening of the Hard Rock Café in Honolulu on February 24th. In addition Anuhea will be taking part in the traditional Guitar Smash which is the Hard Rock Café's special way to commemorate each Grand Opening. More Rock n Roll than a ribbon cutting, the Hard Rock Café only smashes damaged instruments and then they donate an equal number of new guitars to a local charity. Anuhea will join Hard Rock Café CEO Hamish Dodds as well as other special dignitaries.

About Anuhea
Anuhea's signature guitar rhythms and song writing weave soul, R&B, jazz, and reggae to achieve a seductive pop sound with an independent attitude ala Lily Allen and Gwen Stefani.

Anuhea was born on the island of Maui. A self-taught guitarist and song writer, Anuhea began showcasing her talents while boarding at Kamehameha Schools in Honolulu. ''I started writing songs... I was discovering my talent and passion while discovering how to deal with emotions every teenager has to go through."

After attending film school in Orange County California, Anuhea realized music was really her calling. She returned to the islands and immediately got involved performing at local coffee shops and clubs. Taking the initiative to market herself as well as acting as her own manager, booking agent, music producer and distributor, Anuhea's skills improved with every gig and success started to come. She took recordings from a live taping and created a 22-track demo CD, "Rough Cuts", which she sold at gigs all around Hawaii and through her MySpace page to fans across the globe.

Since the release of her debut, Anuhea has sold tens of thousands of album and songs all across the United States. She is arguably the most visible and successful artist to emerge from Hawaii in a generation. Included among her many fans is iTunes. The top retailer of pre-recorded music in the world has featured Anuhea and her music multiple times over the recent past. The ultimate validation came from her peers at the 2010 Na Hoku Awards (Hawaii's equivalent to the Grammy) when Anuhea won for Most Promising Artist of the Year and Contemporary Album of the Year.

Anuhea's determination, passion, optimism and raw talent are the foundations for the success that is to come. "I just feel lucky that I've found my dream and am able to pursue it... My main goal as a music-maker is to help people find theirs, whatever it may be."
