| Musical hobo brings opens house concert series with songs from the road Talent. Honesty. Humour. Season these desirable qualities with years on the road and you get Scott Cook. Cowichan Folk Guild spokesperson Robert McCourty those lucky enough to catch Cook at the 2010 Islands Folk Festival were blown away. "This young fellow has enough talent and honesty in his songs to make you want to adopt him, " McCourty said in a press release. "Edmonton's own prairie balladeer Scott Cook is a tirelessly traveling songwriter with heart forever on sleeve." Cook accompanies himself with acoustic guitar, banjo, ukulele, and foot percussion, nodding to influences as diverse as folk, country, blues, and reggae. He is touring in support of his second solo album, This One's on the House, an ode to hobo living and the kind folks who make it all possible. On Friday, Cook is the featured attraction in the debut of a new monthly folk guild House Concert series.
