| A Century of Jazz Piano with Dick Hyman Dick Hyman performs his show, A Century of Jazz Piano: Highlights in the History of an American Art Form, at BIG ARTS Saturday, January 8, at 8 p.m. BIG ARTS Schein Performance Hall is located at 900 Dunlop Road, Sanibel. Dick Hyman has had a prolific career in New York as a studio musician and won seven Most Valuable Player Awards from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. He received a daytime Emmy for composition of an original television score. He has experience writing film scores, orchestral compositions, and has made countless concert appearances. He recorded more than 100 albums under his own name, including all of the music of the pioneer jazz pianists. Hyman was composer/arranger/conductor/pianist for many Woody Allen films, including Zelig, The Purple Rose of Cairo, Broadway Danny Rose, Stardust Memories, Hannah and Her Sisters, Radio Days, Bullets Over Broadway, Mighty Aphrodite, Everyone Says I Love You and others.
