Diverse Canadian artist, Buck 65, delivers special album for his 20th

Buck 65 (Richard Terfry) is a diverse Canadian artist whose unique style incorporates elements of folk, blues, and avante-garde, with a rhythmic rap delivery. On the twentieth anniversary of his career we are presented with a collection of special collaborations with friends and colleagues.

Whispers of the Waves is a lilting waltz featuring the iconic Tragically Hip frontman, Gord Downie. Buck 65 describes the collaboration with Downie saying "When I thought to invite him, I never imagined he'd actually show up. But he came early with a bag of cheese puffs and a box of blank Valentine's Day cards. We made a waltz for people to dance to alone. It's called Whispers Of The Waves. I'm still amazed by how fast it happened."

Jenn Grant hails from PEI and played Anne of Green Gables as a young teenager. Her astoundingly beautiful voice graces three tracks on this collection. Paper Airplane, Who By Fire and Cold Steel Drum are folky and driven by acoustic guitar and drum loops.

Buck 65 tells us that John Southworth "arrived by hot air balloon, wearing a paper hat. Safe upon the ground he removed the hat and on it we wrote a song about estranged fathers and sons, computers, democracy and Christopher Cross. It's called BCC and is the only song on the album that features both flute and marimba. It's accidentally exotic."

Other highlights include Stop (featuring Hannah George), Tears of Your Heart (featuring Olivia Ruiz) and the solo contributions Superstars Don't Love and Zombie Delight.

THE GREENHORNES -**** (Warner Music, 2010)

Hailing from Cincinnati, Ohio, The Greenhornes have been cranking out straight-up rock n roll since the late 1990s. The trio of Craig Fox, Patrick Keelor and Little Jack Lawrence have released three full-length albums, an EP and a pile of singles and have toured the world almost constantly for over a decade.

Obvious influences include the Kinks, the Who, and the Zombies and the press release also sites the Australian band, the Easybeats.

Saying Goodbye is the dark, poppy lead-off single. Cave Drawings is more introspective and down-tempo.

Other highlights include Song 13, Hard to Find, My Sparrow and Underestimator.
