Hungerthon 2010 Charity Concert

Between 1960 and 1973, The Village was an incubator for an esteemed group of musicians, singers and songwriters. Fast-forward to today and the family tradition carries on with a new generation and an even larger talent pool.

Singing the songs of that important and influential era (as well as a selection of their current work) will be: Jen Chapin. Ben Taylor, Jenni Muldaur, The Chapin Sisters, Julie Simon, Bethany Yarrow, Owen Elliot-Kugell, John Doherty and a growing list of talented musicians.

Join us for a memorable afternoon and an audio stroll back to The Village of the 60's. We'll honor, among others, the music of Harry Chapin, as his work in the realm of social activism lives on through the organization WhyHunger. The concert is a timely drive for WhyHunger and their annual Hungerthon.

WhyHunger, founded in 1975, is a leader in building the movement to end hunger and poverty by connecting people to nutritious, affordable food and by supporting grassroots solutions that inspire self-reliance and community empowerment.

Started in 1975 as a program of WhyHunger, Hungerthon is a series of fundraising concerts and events culminating in a radiothon that has grown to become a Thanksgiving tradition throughout the NY tri-state area. The radio broadcast portion, featuring an auction of celebrity autographed memorabilia, concert and sports events tickets (with meet and greets), and more begins Saturday, November 20th (6:00AM-10:00AM on WFAN with Richard Neer; 4PM-8PM on WFUV with Pete Fornatale; 4PM-Midnight on Sirius XM with "Cousin" Brucie Morrow) through Tuesday, November 23rd (5:00AM-9:00PM ... with all CBS, Clear Channel and Emmis NYC tri-state area radio stations, Sirius XM Satellite Radio, and CharityFolks.com).
