| 16th Lucerne Blues Festival 2010 14 top-class formations will perform at the 16th Lucerne Blues Festival at the Grand Casino Lucerne from 11th to 13th of November 2010. In the now smoke-free Panoramasaal fewer seats are available than in the previous years. These seats are numbered from this year onwards. The seat reservation can be made in advance by separate tickets, which include also a dinner. The traditional opening concert of the Lucerne Blues Festival will take place for the first time at the Hotel Schweizerhof on Saturday. Related to the legal smoking ban, which is in force in Switzerland since May 1st 2010, the Grand Casino Lucerne made some structural adjustments to comfort the non-smoking guests as well as the smokers. The main concert hall is now a fully smoke free area. These changes lead to the fact that in the Panoramasaal fewer seats will be available at the Lucerne Blues Festival. At the same time, a lot of requests in the past have shown an active demand for the possibility of table- and seat-reservations. The Lucerne Blues Festival together with the Grand Casino Lucerne will accommodate now this demand with an attractive offer. The limited quantity of numbered seats is offered with special tickets which include a dinner (excluding drinks). The dinner consists of a three-course meal (choice of three different menu offerings – appetizers, main courses and desserts), drinks are not included. Not included in the price is as well the actual entry- and concert-ticket. The seats must be taken no later than 7:30 p.m. After that, they will be released (without any claim for reimbursement of the costs). The price for a dinner with booked seating for the whole evening in the smoke-free Panoramasaal is CHF 80.00 on Thursday, resp. CHF 100.00 on Friday and Saturday. The tickets for this seat reservations are available on the internet and at the advance ticket agencies of Ticketcorner such as the concert tickets. Given that the national smoking ban no longer allows smoking in the Panoramasaal and in the Casineum, smokers can use the smoker's lounge in the cocktail bar and the covered smoking areas at the seaside entrance to the Panoramasaal of the Casino. New for this year, the festival will begin at the Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne. At the traditional free concert on the festival kick-off JT Lauritsen & The Buckshot Hunters with special guest Billy Gibson will play (Saturday, November 6th 2010 starting at 8:00 p.m.). For the opening concert with Bryan Lee & The Blues Power Band at the Grand Casino Lucerne on Wednesday, November 10th, starting at 11:00 p.m. at the Casineum, no entry fee has to be paid as well. Due to the great demand, there will be again an additional third Blues Brunch at the Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne: on Saturday, November 13th, 2010, Tia Carroll & Hard Work will perform there. The first Blues Brunch on Sunday, November 7th, 2010, at the Hotel Seeburg will be with Lou Pride. On Sunday, November 14th, 2010, at the Hotel Schweizerhof Lucerne, Guy Davis & Mavis Staples will perform on stage.
