| Sam Hooper To Perform In Shanghai The Los Angeles based guitarist/vocalist/songwriter and leader of Sam Hooper Group, returns to China as a special guest for this anniversary celebration at House of Blues & Jazz. The first time Sam Hooper Group walked through the door of House of Blues & Jazz, a huge photo of John Lee Hooker smiled down on them. "This is China?" they thought. Smiling back at the legendary blues man, they knew they had come to the right place. When they heard owner Lin Dongfu express his love for jazz and its deep roots in the blues, they knew their own passion for music could be nurtured there. That was 2004 when they became the first band from abroad to have a residency at the club. Since then, Sam Hooper Group has performed over 300 shows during a total of 13 months at House of Blues & Jazz. With the growing number of international friends and fans they've met there, it's easy to see why this exciting venue, has become the band's second home. In honor of this very special occasion, Sam Hooper Group is proud to present it's new release, "LIVE in Shanghai." Recorded at House of Blues & Jazz' Maoming Lu location, it captures a magical night of explosive performances in front of an excited, standing room only crowd.
