| Anthony Crawford Prepares Debut Album “Urban Jazz” For Re-release Jazz Bassist, Anthony Crawford signs his imprint Hydro 6 Records to a distribution deal with 141 Entertainment's Sonic Flux Music, re-releasing his debut album "Urban Jazz", a collection of innovatively intricate urban inspired compositions. As the nephew of legendary jazz saxophonist, Hank Crawford and son of funk and rock drummer Hubert "H-Bomb" Crawford, Anthony is no stranger to innovative strides in Jazz. Taking a cue from the legacy left by his uncle Hank Crawford, who inspired many other great Jazz Artists such as David Sanborn; who said in an interview that if it were not for Hank Crawford, he would have never picked up a Saxophone. Anthony's quest through his music is to return Jazz to its progressive roots as free-form art, stretching the boundaries of interpretation and bringing a more urban influenced audience an appreciation of jazz. "We are extremely excited to have Anthony Crawford and Hydro 6 Records with us. We love that he is such an inventive bassist, his style of playing is reminiscent of Jaco Pastorius" says Kimo Kaulani of 141 Entertainment. "Urban Jazz" will be available on November 9, 2010 at iTunes, Rhapsody and all other major on-line retailers. The album's leadoff single "Windy Days" is being serviced to Radio across the country and internationally. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Jazz News :: home page |
