Trúbatrix on Tour in Iceland

Trúbatrix, a league of Icelandic female musicians, have returned to Iceland after a successful tour in the UK last spring and have now launched a tour around their home country in cooperation with the Kraum music fund.

During the tour, new up-and-coming musicians will be introduced. Trúbatrix advertised for new performers earlier this summer and received a flood of applications. At least ten new performers will join them on their tour, a press release states.

The first concert was held at Paddy's in Keflavík on August 19. Tonight, on Culture Night, a Trúbatrix concert will take place at Café Rósenberg in Reykjavík.

On August 24, they will perform at Merkigil in Eyrarbakki and on August 24 and 25 at Gamla Kaupfélagid in Akranes. The tour ends with a concert at Pakkhúsid in Höfn on August 26. Admission is free for all concerts.

In other music-related news, as part of the Reykjavík Jazz Festival, an evening with golden age swing is being organized at Grand Hotel in Reykjavík tomorrow.

The Swing Sextet conducted by Haukur Gröndal and accompanied by singers such as Martin Roy Wade and Kristjana Stefánsdóttir will perform golden age jazz music.
