Connor Desai Performs In-Store Millennium Music

Seattle singer/songwriter/guitarist Connor Desai, whose sophomore album Use Your Hands "manages to break down jazz into its more pleasing parts… the experimentation, the intelligence, the full-bodied pairings…in a winning presentation of art, style, and verve" (Jazz Music Examiner) will be doing an in-store performance at Portland's Millennium Music on Monday, September 13.

Connor Desai makes soulful American folk music and names Victoria Williams, Steely Dan, and Kansas as her early influences. In a recent review, Seattle Show Gal said "[she] is sure to melt your heart with her sultry, silky voice and fine-tuned jazzyness with a hint of bouncy pop." Her latest appearance at ToST in Seattle's Fremont neighborhood received a recommendation from Three Imaginary Girls, which asserted that her latest release is filled with "hollow-bodied warmth, tube amp glow, and dark lounge haunt-drama" while a national feature on Channel One News said "[you] can play the entire record, her refreshing sounds provide a nice variety - whether they are upbeat and ranging near pop, or more slow and contemplative."
