Acclaimed New Orleans' songstress Stephanie Jordan debut the Thursday Night Jazz at The Setai, South Beach. Launching August 5, at 7:00 p.m. and every Thursday thereafter, local and national jazz musicians and vocalists will perform live classic, Latin and smooth jazz under the stars at The Bar & Courtyard in Miami Beach. Since opening its doors in 2005, The Setai, an intimate, serene oceanfront resort in the heart of South Beach has been synonymous with exceptional service, award-winning décor and authentic Asian cuisine.

Stephanie Jordon's current show which she began in 2009, 'A Tribute to Lena Horne' continues her signature trademark of singing jazz standards; The Setai's tranquil and beautiful setting is most appropriate for Jordan's musical style.

Jordan who has had the privileged of mentoring under the guidance of Shirley Horn says that it was "Lena Horne who actually served as her first introduction to great jazz singers. As a little girl I wanted to be Lena Horne . . . It is Lena Horne's music which helps me to define who I am as a singer and I only hope that her passing does not mean the end of the big band era of music and hope that I am able to carry that torch with a similar style, grace, and elegance of Lena Horne."

Stephanie, whom critics have placed in the company of Nancy Wilson and Diana Krall, began to receive national recognition following her stunning performance during the nationally televised Higher Ground Hurricane Relief Benefit Concert at New York's Jazz at Lincoln Center. Bill Milkowski of JazzTimes Magazine writes "Stephanie Jordan, a standout here, was the real discovery of the evening. Her haunting rendition of (Here's to Life) this bittersweet ode associated with Shirley Horn was delivered with uncanny poise and a depth of understated soul that mesmerized the crowd and registered to the back rows. Singing with a clarity of diction that recalled Nat "King" Cole . . ."

The show at The Setai is part of three shows for Jordan this week; the others are a special appearance on Tuesday, August 3rd at the National Medical Association Convention in Orlando, Florida; and a Saturday, August 7th performance with Terry "Doc" Handy at 12th annual Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival in Mobile, Alabama.
