| Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest The 2010 Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest kicks off Tuesday, July 6, 2010, for a two week run until Sunday, July 18, 2010. Ranked by Billboard Magazine as one of the top-10 most successful music festivals in the world, this multi-staged music extravaganza features blues, R&B, gospel, world, rock, pop, and more. Some of the biggest names in the biz come from around the world to perform annually, in downtown Ottawa. WHAT: The 2010 Cisco Ottawa Bluesfest kicks off two weeks of blues, jazz, comedy by Canadian and international acts, starting with performances by blues sensation Ana Popovic on the Subway Stage and heavy metal band Dream Theatre on the MBNA Stage. Headliners, Iron Maiden will perform on the MBNA Stage at 9:00 p.m. WHO: Leading up to the world's favorite metal band, Iron Maiden—is Dream Theater. Featuring the superb guitar playing of John Petrucci, Dream Theater is well ensconced in the upper echelons of contemporary heavy metal. As always, there will be a wide variety of music to choose from on opening night at Bluesfest, and throughout the event—and now comedy has been added to the mix, beginning on opening night with the inimitable comedy stylings of Wayne Brady of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" fame. This along with all the great music on tap should put a smile on every 'fest fan's face.
