Atlantic Records Signs Bad City

Atlantic Records has announced its signing of much-buzzed-about new hard rock band Bad City. The Chicago-based combo's exhilarating debut album, entitled "Welcome To The Wasteland, " arrives in stores and at all DSPs on August 24th.

In the meantime, Bad City has been invited to serve as special guests on Smashing Pumpkins' eagerly awaited summer tour of intimate venues across the country. What's more, Billy Corgan himself recently commanded his many Twitter followers to check out the band's www.myspace.com/badcitymusic. The dates will kick off July 6th at Cleveland's House of Blues and then continue through a July 21st show at The Ritz in Ybor City, Florida .

Bad City have created a stir around the Chicago underground with their riff-crazy brand of old-school hard rock. Produced by Grammy Award-nominee Johnny K (Staind, Sevendust, 3 Doors Down), "WELCOME TO THE WASTELAND" is an electrifying introduction to the band's idiosyncratic sound, riddled with glamtastic melodies, trashy hooks, and stadium-sized choruses. Among the album's many highlights are the blazing "Wildlife" and the gritty focus track, "Take Me For A Ride, " both of which can currently be heard at the band's www.myspace.com/badcitymusic as well as their own YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/badcity.
