| Christine Occhino and Lisa Occhino at Stamford’s Long Ridge Christine Occhino will perform R&B, pop, rock, and jazz favorites accompanied on keyboard by her sister, Lisa Occhino, at the Long Ridge Tavern (2635 Long Ridge Road, Stamford, CT) on June 26, 2010 . Christine was recently a pop/dance music headliner at Harpers Ferry Nightclub in Boston. She has performed with bands at restaurants, New Year's events, and fundraisers in the Fairfield County and Boston areas. Christine has worked with top hip-hop producers and been vocally trained from renowned industry professionals from NYC and Boston. She is currently recording and co-writing pop, hip-hop and R&B originals with producers and songwriters at Berklee College of music where she is in her senior year on scholarship studying music business and vocal performance. A singer, actor and dancer, she has appeared in films, on TV, videos, print ads, and musicals. Christine works with a Boston music management-consulting agency and with the Boston Hip-Hop Alliance as an artist relations associate and artist/client liaison. She is also the promotional director for The Berklee Groove student newspaper, a promotional model for 3 major marketing agencies, and was selected as the promotions and marketing coordinator for the Boston Prudential Center's Berklee Spring Fest 2010 outdoor music festival held this April. Christine's accompanist, Lisa Occhino, is a pianist, songwriter, and singer who played at Manhattan's legendary rock club, The Bitter End, in May. This makes her among less than 1% of performers under 18 who have ever been invited perform at their Singer/Songwriter Sessions, according to founder Larry Oakes. This year Lisa released her debut album, Discovery, currently on iTunes and Rhapsody. CD sales help raise funds for the Stamford Young Artists Philharmonic Outreach music program to provide music lessons for needy children. Recently, Lisa has performed at Stamford Downtown Special Services "Reigning Cats & Dogs" sculpture reception, Stamford High School's Carnival for a Cure, the Italian Center's 2010 Opening Day pool celebration, among others. On June 26, she will play keyboard for the band Frogg (winners of the Connecticut Association of Schools 2010 Bandjam and Stamford High's New Bands Night) on the main stage at the International Festival of Arts and Ideas. Lisa is a winner of the statewide 2010 Connecticut Association of Schools Music Award, has been featured in the Stamford Jazz on the Plaza series, has performed originals with the Stamford Young Artists, and has received numerous awards for outstanding musical achievements. She received a Songwriting and Composition Scholarship to Berklee College of Music, where she will double major in songwriting and music business this fall.
