Atlanta’s 7th Annual Summer Jazz Concert Series

The complimentary Summer Jazz Series is returning to the Villa Christina to showcase Classic and Contemporary Jazz artists. The festivities will begin with New York saxophonist Reggie Hines, who has played and written for legendary names, as well as performed his own tunes on recognized talk shows. The musical tradition continues a couple weeks later with a performance by sultry vocalist Tabitha King, who also shared the stage with prominent artists and made special appearances to sing the National Anthem.

The 7th annual concert series will be held on the lovely grounds of Villa Christina beginning on Sunday, June 13th with Reggie Hines and will return on Sunday June 25th with Tabitha King. Doors open at 4:00 pm and the music beings at 5:30 pm. There is no admission charge. Children of all ages are welcome. The concerts will be staged outdoors among landscaped gardens, winding streams and scenic waterfalls. "We love hosting the outdoor jazz concerts here. The series is a relaxing and festive way to spend time with family and friends, enjoying live music, terrific food and refreshing beverages in our gardens. The outstanding entertainment combined with a gorgeous outdoor setting and incredible food is a temptation too strong to resist!" says Villa Christina General Manager Adam Ghali.

Reggie has played for musical icons including Stevie Wonder, Brian McKnight and John Legend. He has also written hit songs for Gerald Alston from the Manhattans, Regina Belle and Phyllis Hyman, one which was Grammy-nominated for best R&B song of the year. He has reached out to national audiences by performing on shows including the David Letterman Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Live with Regis and Kelly.

Tabitha has performed with talent such as Usher, Boys II Men and Keith Washington. R&B artist Frankie Beverly has requested Ms. King to be his opening act at The Atlanta Civic Center, the Taj Mahal in Atlantic City and Yokohama, Japan. She has also had the honor of performing the National Anthem at a number of NBA games.
