Tommy Emmanuel Kicks Off Summer Tour in the U.S.

Two-time Grammy nominated Australian virtuoso guitarist Tommy Emmanuel will be touring throughout the U.S., U.K., Ireland, Europe, Russia, Asia and Australia this summer and into 2011. The tour begins with an initial North American leg starting on the East Coast and running through late July. Emmanuel will be joined on the road by special guest Chase Foster for the first dates and later by Australia's biggest country star, Troy Cassar-Daley. Select tour dates will also feature guitar workshops. Following the East Coast shows, the tour will travel to the South, parts of the West Coast and then back to the East Coast before heading to the U.K., Europe and Russia. Emmanuel then heads back to the U.S. for the second North American leg with the Frank Vignola Trio, continues on to a 10-day tour of China, then to Singapore and Bangkok, and finally returns to the U.K., Ireland and Europe in November. Emmanuel concludes 2010 with the Penang Jazz Festival, and his 50th anniversary tour of Australia with his brother, Phil, and a full band. Dates run through December into January 2011.

Recognized as the elite of the elite and arguably the greatest living acoustic guitar player, Emmanuel has mesmerized both fellow musicians and audiences alike with a professional career that spans nearly five decades. Emmanuel's dazzling performance, flawless guitar skills and voluminous repertoire never fail to amaze and engage his legions. From the wilds of Australia's outback to bustling major cities throughout the world, Emmanuel's flair, unforgettable showmanship and exhaustive world wide touring schedule have created an enviable fan base that continues to grow even larger every year.

This month, Emmanuel was voted Best Acoustic Guitarist in Guitar Player Magazine's 2010 Readers' Choice Awards. He was honored with the same award in 2008. Most recently capturing Emmanuel's immense talent is the 2008 Favored Nations Acoustic release Center Stage, a two CD set and separate 5.1 Dolby Digital DVD release originally recorded live over three nights in October of 2007 at the Sierra Nevada Brewery in Chico, California.
