| Hot Blues, Cool Weekend in Eureka Springs Looking for a cool place to spend the upcoming scorcher of a weekend? Eureka Springs Blues Weekend, June 3-6, fits the bill. The highs throughout the South and Midwest are forecast in the upper 90s, but it's always just a little cooler up in the Ozarks. And the Eureka Springs Blues Weekend is simply one of the coolest blues festivals in the world, especially since the venues are all air conditioned! Except for the free shows in Basin Spring Park, but, hey - they're free! The music, however, will be scorching hot blues! Headliners include John Hammond, Charlie Musselwhite with The Tablerockers, Magic Slim & The Teardrops, and featured artists include Bob Margolin, Shaun Murphy, Kelley Hunt, Super Chikan & The Fighting Cocks, Otis Taylor, Shawn "Lil' Slim" Holt, Marquise Knox, Albert Castiglia, and Fast Johnny Ricker, plus there are dozens more great bands in venues all around town. So no matter what the weather, you can boogie to the blues in beautiful Eureka Springs, the Extraordinary Escape from this weekend's heat wave! write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Jazz News :: home page |
