Abertillery Blues Festival 2010 – Get Your Tickets Now!

Abertillery Blues Festival 2010 is set to be the biggest yet with a host of international talent and a growing fringe festival in the town. Various local pubs are getting on board once again to host a series of more intimate performances by musicians and groups on Thursday, July 15 and Sunday, July 18. The Blues Festival takes place in Abertillery Park on Friday, 16 July and Saturday, 17 July 2010.

Two days of blues and rock music will be headed up by one of the biggest names and the most explosive quartet on the world stage - Ten Years After.

The array of British and international talent includes Mojojim and the Muddy Wulfs, Kyla Bronx Band, King King (Featuring Alan Nimo), Gregg Wright, Chantel Mcgregor, Ten Years After, Mike Markey and Nick Jones, Paul Lamb and the Kingsnakes, Big Mamma's Door, Mud Morganfield (Muddy Waters Jr) and the Dirty Aces.

Festival goers are able to camp for the duration of the festival again this year – at a small cost of £5 per tent.

Gigs in local pubs on the Thursday evening before the festival include performances in the Commercial, the Doll's House and the Rolling Mill. On Sunday venues hosting entertainment will be the Doll's House and the Commercial. Performers will include, among others, The Little Welsh Blues Band, Blue Traffic and Raw Folk.

The festival has been awarded £20, 000 of funding from The Valleys – Heart and Soul campaign alongside £5000 from the Arts Council of Wales to ensure its success and continuation

The campaigns aims are to raise awareness and perceptions of The Valleys and encourage more visitors to come and see what the area has to offer. What better way of doing this than putting on a brilliant music event in the heart of the valleys."
