Rahsaan Pays Homage to Guyana With the Georgetown LP

Today, SoFlo Entertainment releases Rahsaan's debut album Georgetown. This album explores his true-to-life story through vivid rhymes and narrated by The Source Magazine's former Editor-In-Chief, Selwyn Seyfu Hinds. Rahsaan takes his inspiration from first-hand history and experiences to excel beyond comparable measures at the art of expression over a beat. While this album is not based on superficial idealism, not every track is based on deep retrospection either. From party-anthem kick drums to slow-pimpin' rhythm and blues, the forthcoming album is ripe with marvelous melodies. To describe Rahsaan's flow you have to step outside of the box, creating a new interpretation rhyme. On some tracks Rahsaan glides along the beat softly spitting lyrics, while on others he jabs his rhyme into the song with ferocity and clarity. Rahsaan's undeniable dedication to his artistry has given him a unique balance to embody commercial marketability and artistic substance. Production by Justice League, Needlz, Melo X and more add to the flavor blend.

While most of the upcoming rap artists credit their acclaim from blogs, Rahsaan himself is still new to this world. Still he has graced the front pages of Vladtv.com, DJBooth.net, Hip Hop Connection and more, with print features in international press like Hip Hop Nation in Spain. Attaining awareness thru national concerts such as Rock the Bells and local shows in Miami and NY, Rahsaan is becoming a seasoned brand. He has recently held several DJ residencies in Miami, which include The Clevelander's 1020 Music Box, MI-VI & LoveHate. Currently his single Mr. A & R featuring The Last American B-Boy is playing on college radio stations throughout North America as they ready for this album.

Rahsaan has a rich history that has given birth to the establishment of his professional career as a recording and performing artist. The journey from Georgetown, Guyana to Flatbush Brooklyn and now Miami has enriched not only his music, but has also engaged his craft in the fashion world. The former Mecca 5Star Apparel technical designer who once designed clothing featured in AD campaigns, worn on national TV shows and sold across the east coast, is now a product of his own design with Georgetown, Rahsaan's debut LP on SoFlo Entertainment. The development of this album started way before his show dates with Raekwon and Ghostface on the Rock the Bells tour, and even beyond his internship in Def Jam's A&R department, where he was exposed to a multitude of attributes in the business. Rahsaan is not an over-night blogger emcee. He is here to stay. An A&R's dream.
