| Moreira Performs at International Festival of the Arts Moreira Chonguica, regarded as one of Southern Africa's best loved and multi award-winning jazz saxophonists, together with his band, The Moreira Project, has been invited to perform at Harare's International Festival of the Arts, taking place from 27 April to 2 May 2010 in Harare, Zimbabwe. Moreira is scheduled to perform on Friday 30, April at 22h00 and will grace the stage by performing a selection of Pan-African jazz fusion tracks taken from both his highly successful sell out albums - 'The Moreira Project: Volume I - 'The Journey' and 'The Moreira Project: Volume 2 – 'Citizen of the World, which have won him numerous prestigious awards. States Moreira: 'This is a huge honour for me as the festival signifies much more than just a celebration of the arts – it represents unity in Zimbabwe, bringing together different cultural groups and backgrounds to celebrate the arts and talented artists. The festival has always been a huge success and the energy and passion among the artists is so apparent – I'm definitely looking forward to it! Running for its 11th consecutive year, HIFA is regarded as the largest cultural event in Zimbabwe, and is considered to be one of eight major festivals in Africa.
