| Berklee President Roger Brown Gets in On the Act with Executive Sessions Berklee's Executive Sessions, a concert series showcasing bands whose members include Boston-area CEOs and corporate executives, at Berklee's Cafe 939, located at 939 Boylston Street, Boston, continues. The series brings a whole new crew of alpha males to the stage this season. Before the last show of the series, someone very familiar to the college, but not known to the public for rocking a Berklee stage, President Roger Brown and his band The Blood Mountain Brothers will perform. All CEOs involved gig for the sheer joy of playing, with proceeds going to the Executive Sessions Scholarship fund. The Blood Mountain Brothers play unique arrangements of classic American music - from Stephen Foster to Little Feat - with an acoustic, front porch, sweet tea vibe. The college's president Roger Brown has joined the drum circle for Berklee's Percussion Week, played drums with an award-winning gospel choir in Kenya, and been sighted behind the drum kit for Christopher Guest at the Berklee Performance Center. See Brown on drums and percussion, together with Mark Caddell (bass and vocals), with performance experience throughout the East Coast and Midwest, and numerous recording credits; Richard Curzi (piano and vocals) and Paul Judge (guitar and vocals), who perform with the groups Positive Energy and The Linden Singers; and Jim Wooster (guitar and mandola) who has appeared at the Paradise, Johnny D's, the Lizard Lounge and Club Passim. Rumor has is it there will be a little something extra added to the lineup to make this show even more special. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Jazz News :: home page |
