| Melbourne International Jazz Festival Holidaymakers planning a trip to the Australian city of Melbourne at the beginning of May should be sure to pick up tickets to the city's annual celebration of jazz music. The Melbourne International Jazz Festival takes place between May 1st and 8th this year and free and ticketed events are held day and night all over the city. People staying in Melbourne hotels will be able to take in musical performance on the streets, as well as in concert halls, bars, clubs and galleries. The city centre will play host to a range of music events, which will also celebrate jazz through public art installations, film, forums and visual art at venues such as the Australian Centre for the Moving Image, Bennetts Lane Jazz Club, Melbourne Town Hall, the Melbourne Recital Centre and the main stage at Federation Square, which will host a number of free events. American group Tortoise is set to make an appearance at the annual festival, supported by Brian Chase of Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Seth Misterka. write your comments about the article :: © 2010 Jazz News :: home page |
