Beatles Tribute Fundraiser Features Guest Artist Tom Dufore

Tom DuFore, Indie Rock recording artist with Ascending Records, is an invited guest to perform at the Beatles Tribute Fundraiser this Sunday Evening with the Elmhurst College Vocal Jazz Ensemble "Late Night Blues."

The Elmhurst College Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Late Night Blues, proudly presents a Tribute to the Beatles. The Ensemble will sing arrangements of some of your favorite Beatles tunes all whilst bringing the sharp harmonies of Vocal Jazz that is synonymous with Late Night Blues. Come enjoy favorites such as "Let It Be, " "Yesterday, " "Lady Madonna, " and many, many more. The Late Night Blues combo adds a real kick as they impersonate the sounds we are all accustomed to listening to over the years. All proceeds from the show will go towards funding the Vocal Jazz Ensemble's tour to Orlando this spring.

The performance will be held at Fitz's Spare Keys on Sunday, February 21st, 2010 from 7-9 pm. Admission is $10 at the door, $5 for students with an ID. Under the direction of Professor Susan Moninger, the Elmhurst College Vocal Jazz Ensemble is an auditioned group of students from a variety of majors who sing a wide variety of Jazz music ranging from a cappela to funk. Late Night Blues maintains a long-standing tradition of touring the United States, including recent tours to Los Angeles and New York.

Susan Moninger holds a Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Millikin University and a Masters degree in Music Education from Northwestern University. Director of Student Choral Activities at Elmhurst College, Moninger has also been named to "Who's Who Among Teacher's in America." She is the Co-founder and Co-director of Showchoir Camps of America, which celebrated its 30th anniversary this summer. Moninger judges numerous middle and high school concert choir, vocal jazz, and show choir festivals and competitions, and is also an active clinician and adjudicator in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
