| Jazz fanatics chill out in the Network Jazz Garden The Skywards Dubai International Jazz Festival 2010, one of the highlights of the ongoing Dubai Shopping Festival, opened on February 10 with a seven-day jazz schedule called the Network Jazz Garden. Held at the Dubai Media City Amphitheatre, Network Jazz Garden features two performances on centre stage, one at 8:30pm and the other at 10pm. UK's renowned keyboardist and Billboard chart topper, Oli Silk was joined by his band to indulge the crowd with his smooth jazz collection. The one-hour show was a perfect beginning for a week-long celebration of fresh and distinct music. His act was followed by Tingvall Trio who served the audience not only with their diverse mixture of jazz influences but also with their good sense of humour. Many more internationally-acclaimed and talented jazz artists are slated to come onstage during Network Jazz Garden. Skywards Dubai International Jazz Festival 2010 also collaborated with the Hamburg Representative Office in the UAE to bring world-class jazz musicians from Hamburg, the home for the best European jazz music. The following nights will indeed be filled with breathtaking jazz genres that will not only keep the audience at awe but will also endear them with great relaxing melodies. Buddies Rayan Raed (Lebanese) and Ben Walker (British) were two among the jazz fanatics who thronged the first day of the Network Jazz Garden. Rayan said, "We love jazz. We're here to chill out and celebrate the music." Ben added, "We will definitely be here for the next seven days, and we surely won't miss the three main concerts. We're huge fans of David Gray and James Morrison." The couple from Pakistan Murtaza and Komal Japar declared, "We follow the Dubai International Jazz Festival every year. It is one of the DSF events that we really make sure to attend. The music is fantastic, the venue is convenient, the artists are amazing, and the whole concept is relaxing. It's total entertainment." Marcus Wsichy and Kenyan Fiona Kangethe, from Germany said, "We always want to chill out after a stressful day so we come here and simply enjoy the music and the outdoor environment.
