| Berklee announces new center for musical creativity, global activism We are excited to announce the Berklee Global Jazz Institute - the college's new center for musical creativity and social activism. The BGJI has selected 14 students for its inaugural class, starting in January 2010. BGJI students will be directed by Grammy-winning jazz master Danilo Perez, travel to U.S. and international cities to perform at festivals, teach children, and explore music's unique power to promote social change.
