With a bevy of new releases lining up already there is one that is already garnering its share of attention. The Reese Project's new recording Eastern Standard Time is set to drop January 5, 2010 on In the Groove Records. Top musicians have joined leader and flutist Tom Reese on an all-instrumental foray into modern jazz that will be certain to please critics and fans alike. Booby Brewer (guitar). Laurie Haines Reeese (cello), Aaron Walker (drums) and Johnny "Bravo" Acevedo (percussion) are an integral part of the final equation on Eastern Standard Time and compliment Reese beautifully. Guitarist Bobby Brewer plays with precision and endless energy to keep up with the renowned flute master. Brewers' succinct guitar lines are a fitting match for Reese's magical flute. The music takes you away with elements of jazz, blues, and funk then seamlessly switches in mid stream from classical to Celtic. The band paves a wide path through the jazz genre while paying homage to nearly every sub genre imaginable. The Reese Project teamed up with Grammy Award winning producer Jack Kreisberg on Eastern Standard Time and the partnership proves to be a rewarding one as all twelve tracks are outstanding renderings of instrumental jazz. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Jazz News :: home page |
