The Royal Band is a Latin Jazz band which includes members and influences form various Latin American countries, and has incorporated elements from other jazz sounds to offer a very "smooth" sound, influenced heavily by 1980's jazz. Collin Hunter, the founding President and CEO of Sunwing Vacations which organizes all inclusive vacation packages for Canadians, shows that a passion for business and for art can go hand in hand; his smooth voice and upbeat rhythm have already entertained Toronto, Montreal and Quebec. Aguamala is a band direclty from Playa, with members who are long-time Playa del Carmen residents, who have performed with several well known Mexican and Latin jazz performers. The combines elements of jazz and rock. Finally, Sacbe, a band with a long history in Mexican Jazz, dating back to 1977, shared there rich experience and blend of traditions from Africa, Asia, Brazil and Mexico with Playa del Carmen's enthusiastic audience. The three nights which remain will continue to bring first-class jazz entertainment to Playa del Carmen residents. This event is only one among many which residents enjoy in the Playa del Carmen area, which has recently also offered a film festival.
