| Summer Set To Sizzle With Top Kiwi Music Top New Zealand musicians are tuning up for Hutt City's free Pelorus Trust Music in Parks summer concert series, taking place over three Sundays in February 2010. During the month of February the Pelorus Trust Music in Parks series will host three free performances in a variety of parks across the city. The free concerts provide something to suit every taste with a wide variety of musical styles including jazz, big band, hip-hop, blues, R&B, and contemporary indie- pop. Many of the musicians write and play original Kiwi music. Acclaimed jazz songstress Whirimako Black, ably supported by the Vaughn Roberts Big Band, can be heard at Williams Parks in Days Bay on 14 February 2010. For those who like their music funkier, Pacific-infused R&B and hip hop innovators Nesian Mystik will perform a blistering set at Frederick Wise Park in Wainuiomata on 21 February. The Psychedelic blues-rock of the Little Bushman and indie-pop of local act Good Laika take to TheNewDowse lawn for a sonic journey for the final of Music in Parks on Sunday 28 February. Hutt City's Pelorus Trust Music in Parks has plenty of music to enjoy this summer, so grab some food and some friends and head out to one of the city's parks to enjoy some first class music. These concerts are brought to you by Hutt City Council in association with the Pelorus Trust and the Radio Network. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Jazz News :: home page |
