| Jim Carter Opens Previews for "Fats" the Musical Antoine "Fats" Domino came out of New Orleans in the 1950's with a "boogie woogie" piano and a warm blues vocal style to become one of rock and roll's earliest stars. Now Tree Records first American signed artist, Jim Carter, has begun to channel that rocking party sound into a Mardi Gras style tribute show called "Fats" the Musical. "Fats" the Musical is primarily a celebration of the music of Fats Domino and his beloved city of New Orleans, LA. The most popular exponent of the classic New Orleans R&B sound, Fats Domino sold more records than any other African American star of the 1950's. His relaxed, lolling piano style and easygoing vocals anchored a long series of national hits from 1950 to the mid '60's including "Ain't That A Shame", "Walkin' To New Orleans" and "Blueberry Hill". Jim gained his appreciation for Fats and "the Big Easy" while performing on the legendary riverboat, the Delta Queen, along with the Mississippi Queen and the American Queen riverboats, which docked in New Orleans. "I fell in love with the laid back atmosphere, the great food and the incredible "party" music", Jim says. "After hurricane Katrina, the thought of loosing those sights and sounds sadden me." "I had just released my first album "Daydreamer" with Tree Records, an Orchard Label, and people started asking what I was going to do next? A show featuring the music of Fats seemed perfect for me. I love his music, our singing styles are very similar and I live to perform "party" shows". Jim Carter has performed as "Ron" in the national touring company of the Broadway musical "Hair", as well as at noted entertainment icons such as Radio City Music Hall (New York, NY), Walt Disney World and Universal/Orlando Resorts (Orlando, FL). He has performed with such name artists as Helen Reddy, Red Buttons, Jose Feliciano, Peabo Bryson, Walter Crockett, David Faustino (Bud from the Fox comedy TV show "Married with Children") and The Radio City "Rockettes'. His first album "Daydreamer" is a combination of classic hits covers and an original penned by Jim himself. The whole Album has a touch of Jazz / Rock to it and Jim Carter gives these old favourites great justice, retaining the original 'feel' and 'polish' "Daydreamer" is now available from leading digital Sites such as iTunes, eMusic and Amazon mp3 while CD Baby sells the hard copies of the Album. "Fats" the Musical goes into previews in November of this year.
