Faith Chapel Christian Center presents an "After Classic Halloween Alternative Concert" featuring Verity recording artist, Deitrick Haddon, and Tyscot recording artist, Damita Haddon, Saturday, October 31st at 8:00 pm. The concert, to be held at The Word Dome, is free and open to the public.

Other artists scheduled to appear include two acts from Audiostate 55 Entertainment Church Boy, a Vocal Sensation Gospel group and Overfloe, a Christian Jazz Fusion group. Also on the lineup, Stellar nominated Birmingham Entertainment Hip Hop gospel artist LP. The emcee for the evening will be DJ. Strick, host of 95.7 Gospel Jamz.

There is something for everyone. This event is specifically geared to fill the void for Christian teenagers and adults looking for entertainment after the Magic City Classic football game as an alternative to traditional Halloween activities. Childcare will not be provided, however children are welcome.

As an additional treat, Deitrick and Damita Haddon are scheduled to perform with the FCCC teen choir during the 10 o'clock worship services the next morning. Stellar Award winner Deitrick Haddon will also deliver an inspirational message to teens and young adults during the November 1st service. Childcare, for ages 6 weeks to 6th grade will be provided.

The alternative Halloween weekend festivities are presented by Faith Chapel's Fine Arts Ministry led by world-renowned producer, arranger, conductor, and UAB Professor, Dr. Henry Panion III, who is also an alumnus of Alabama A&M University.

A native of Detroit Michigan, Deitrick Haddon has released eleven albums since 1995, including six with his group Voices of Unity. In 2002, Haddon launched his solo career as a Christian R&B vocalist with the Lost & Found on Tyscot/Verity. The set peaked at #1 on Billboard's Top Gospel Charts and received wide critical acclaim and spawned the hit "Sinner's Prayer" which received heavy spins on gospel and mainstream R&B radio stations. His latest solo effort titled Revealed continues to establish Haddon as a major force within urban music. This album has the well known "Love Him Like I Do" (featuring Mary Mary and Ruben Studdard) as one of its tracks.

Damita Haddon, who is married to Deitrick Haddon, released her first gospel album in 2000 entitled Damita with Atlantic Records. Her second album, No Looking Back, was released in 2008 with Tyscot Records. The album's first radio single was the title track, "No Looking Back."

Faith Chapel started in April, 1981 in Dr. Michael D. Moore's home in the Wylam community of Birmingham, Alabama. The church began with four people: Dr. Moore, his wife Kennetha, his mother, and a friend. In six months, the church grew then moved in June, 1981 to Stallworth Funeral Home. Within a year, the church re-located to the YWCA in downtown Birmingham. Today the congregation has reached over 7, 000 members and is housed in the world's largest monolithic dome. The Word Dome is located at 100 Lexington St, just blocks from the original church.
