| Second Marsh Rising Workshop Performance of Bob Scott’s the Jade Pyramid. The Marsh, a breeding ground for new performance, is pleased to announce a second Marsh Rising workshop performance of Bob Scott's The Jade Pyramid, with original music composed by Bob Scott. Coming of age in the American West at the end of the 1960's, a lost young man, Billy, is drawn in by the visions and dreams of others, but learns that he must follow his own path. It's got drugs and rock and roll but surprisingly little sex. Direction and dramaturgy are by Roberta D'Alois, Artistic Director of Jump! Theatre in San Francisco, whose newest play, "Rapture Makes Perfect, " has been awarded a grant from the International Centre for Women Playwrights. The show plays on Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at 7.30 pm on The Marsh Main Stage, 1062 Valencia Street. Bob Scott is a fingerpicker, poet, songwriter, teller of odd stories, singer of cowboy blues, and member of many bands past and present. Some of these incarnations include Rhythm Kitchen, the Belvederes, Not Bob Scott, The Dave Marz Trio, and Lucky Lew. He holds a Doctor of Thinkology degree from Oz University. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Jazz News :: home page |
