| Der blaue Klang. 40 years ECM A special four-day event honouring ECM's 40 year history will take place at Mannheim Castle from 22nd to 25th October, in the wider context of the Enjoy Jazz Festival. Its programme brings together artists and ensembles from a broad spectrum of the label's catalogue, including the New Series. Alongside the concerts, the festival incorporates a rare screening of "Holozän", the film by Heinz Bütler and Manfred Eicher inspired by Max Frisch's novella, and an international symposium in which leading critics and musicologists will address ECM's role in the ongoing dialogue between American and European jazz, as well as changing relationships between improvisation and contemporary composition.
