| Todd Lavelle and Thailand's Himmapan: 2nd World Concert Tour Todd Tongdee (Lavelle) and his team at Le Musiq are most excited to bring their "Himmapan: 2nd World" book, CD and performing team to the USA in the fall of 2009. They will continue to tour the world in late 2009, early 2010. With sponsorship from the Singha Corporation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Thai-US Associations, Todd is bringing a full team of 12-16 (depending on the venue) world musiq players, singers, dancers complete with VDO, bi-lingual programs and his own style of "Interactive East-West" performance. HIMMAPAN: 2nd World is based on the Thai mythical forest Himmapan in which myriad hybrid animals co-existed in relative peace and harmony. Todd has take this concept into 24 brand new Thai-World Musiq songs and stories that combine Thai folk music with the music and story of Africa, the Americas, Asia, Celtic Europe and blues, rock, R 'n B and acoustic rhythms. Conceptually, the legends of HIMMAPAN and folktales from around the world are reinterpreted to construct concepts for building a "second World where we can live as ONE". From His Majesty King Bhumipol Adulyadej's concepts of sustainable economics to the Native American concepts of maternal love, African harmony, Inca passion, the Karen concept of "home within the heart", Todd suggests a 2nd world of respect, laughter and kindness driving a fairer economy based on exchange and synergy. In each city the troupe will perform HIMMAPAN: 2nd World for free hoping to draw the myriad colors of society - church groups, disabled, seniors' groups, youth groups, Native Americans and computer geeks. In practical terms, it is hoped these shows-mini-festivals will portray Thailand as the "World Ambassador" it is - host to open ideas, blossoming culture and endless human resources. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Jazz News :: home page |
