| Insingizi: Sequel in the 'Voices of Southern Africa' Series Released in 2004 'Voices of Southern Africa' was such an amazing success, its North American release alone selling well in excess of 250, 000 copies, that the group were encouraged to record a sequel. The other compositions were inspired by life in the townships and they reflect the day to day life in modern day Zimbabwe." From the aforementioned war song 'Lamlela ndwandwe' to the funeral song 'Amagugu', to the traditional wedding songs 'Londolozela' and 'Umendo', sung by jubilant families at traditional wedding ceremonies, the album highlights the different moods mbube music is capable of heralding. Insingizi has been busy since the release of the first album, touring extensively with their many projects, and finding themselves included in famed blues guitarist Hans Theesink's band. Member Blessings Nqo Nkomo even found time to release a solo album ('Mbube & Gospel from Southern Africa', ARC, EUCD2199) in January 2009, featuring appearances from Theesink and Blessings' Insingizi bandmates. Insingizi's music is filled with hope, optimism and faith.
