| New York Chamber Music Festival The inaugural season of the New York Chamber Music Festival will take place September 13-20, 2009 at Symphony Space. The Principal Brass Quintet (Musicians of the New York Philharmonic) will kick-off the festival week on September 13 (4:00PM), with a program that runs the gamut from baroque to jazz and everything in between. The Turtle Island Quartet will perform their Grammy-winning John Coltrane program "A Love Supreme" on September 14 (8:00PM). Superstar violinist Rachel Barton Pine will make her long-awaited New York recital debut on September 15 (8:00PM), performing works by Pisendel, Mendelssohn, Corigliano and Liszt. Metropolitan Opera musicians will perform chamber music on September 16 and 17 (both days at 8:00PM), in programs including two New York premieres (Gernot Wolfgang's Piano Quartet "Metamorphosis" and Vernon Duke's 1949 Violin Sonata).
