| Results on Mark Rapp's Jazz Charity at the Jazz Standard On Sunday, July 5th (4th of July weekend), Mark Rapp performed 2 shows at the Jazz Standard where he donated his entire profit from CD sales to a charity called Project Sunshine. Rapp's debut CD "Token Tales" is a critically acclaimed effort and is being played around the globe. We often don't hear the results of charity efforts, especially those on a grassroots level, but his is an exception. It's a wonderful example of how small efforts really do help. Rapp says... "A HUGE thank you for everyone who was able to attend our performance at the Jazz standard on July 5th! It was an awesome evening all around. We did a GREAT job! To raise over $200 at a jazz gig on a Sunday night on a 4th of July weekend is TREMENDOUS! Thank YOU!" And below is a message from Project Sunshine, the charity for whom the Mark Rapp Group raised money that night. Project Sunshine thanks all of Mark Rapp's fans and supporters for helping raise $207 at his July 5th concert in support of our free programs for children facing medical challenges and their families. Every donation counts, especially during these challenging economic times, and this money will allow Project Sunshine to deliver therapeutic arts and crafts programming to 33 children in need. If you would like to contribute to Project Sunshine and help reach Mark's goal of raising $1, 350 towards these impactful and in-demand programs, allowing us to reach 216 children, please visit: A donation of just $10 or $20 will help us reach our goal! Please encourage your friends to donate too and please note on the donation page that your donation is from a Fan of Mark Rapp. Thank you! write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Jazz News :: home page |
