| Love Song to New Orleans Song Contest Opens From July 9 to August 31, The Love Song to New Orleans cd compilation is looking for the last song on it's album. The song can be "inspired by" New Orleans and Louisiana in theme OR just general style/vibe. Open to all jazz, blues, zydeco, Americana, southern rock, pop and folk songwriters. ADK microphones will present the songwriter with one of their microphones (made famous by Ray Charles). The contest is being held through Sonicbids and has a ten dollar entry fee. Winning songwriter will join the company of many award winning songwriters and talented musicians on the cd, who have performed alongside members of hometown heroes, the Nevilles and Brandon Marsalis. Blues artist Jimmy Rip (who produced Jerry Lee Lewis's album & tours with Mick Jagger & Rod Stewart, etc) graces the album with a foot stomping blues called "Playing Hookey". Blues artist David Vidal cowrote the Dylan-esque single "Love Song to New Orleans" with album producer Diana Williamson. Samples can be heard at the myspace page. Cd will be distributed through New Orlean's retail outlets Louisiana Music Factory, Peaches Records, Borders St. Charles, and digital stores Itunes and Amazon.com October 1st. Pre-order the cd & you can get VIP passes to the record release party, dinner with an artist, autographed guitars, even your own house concert for you and your guests.
