| Jody Whitesides: New Single Release ‘Hero Unexpected’ 'Hero Unexpected' is the new single from Alternative Pop/Rock Artist Jody Whitesides, released in North America, Friday, July 3rd. Co-produced by Juno Award-winning George Leger III and mastered by Grammy -winning Gavin Lurssen, 'Hero Unexpected' is Whitesides' first release after his highly acclaimed solo album Practical Insanity. The Los Angeles-based musician, who was the first non-signed artist for sale on iTunes through CD Baby, created another hook-laden Alternative Rock release that appeals to indie, folk, and pop fans alike. On 'Hero Unexpected', Whitesides has combined the smarts of John Mayer with the boldness of Lenny Kravitz and mixed it with the cleverness of Maroon 5. This premium blend of sounds, termed as Modern Retro Rock, is complemented by Whitesides' distinctive soulful voice, making 'Hero Unexpected' the perfect feel good summer song of the year. Whitesides' previous album release 'Practical Insanity' led to successful touring in the United States as well as winning Music Video of the Year with his song 'Falling In'. "I hope that my song will inspire listeners to be heroic in their own way." Jody Whitesides is a Los Angeles-based performing songwriter and musician. Born in New York City and raised in Park City, Utah, Whitesides spent a semester at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts, before moving to Los Angeles. He studied at the Musician's Institute in Hollywood and has since established himself as an accomplished songwriter as well as a stage performer and lead vocalist. Among his several albums, his 2005 solo album PRACTICAL INSANITY achieved enormous praise by music journalists and listeners alike.
