| Head to Bluesfest for Hot Summer Nights, July 16-19th Festival lovers mark your calendar for July 16-19, 2009 and revel on the river overlooking Motown, as the 15th annual Bluesfest hosts its most dynamic lineup ever. Bluesfest kicks off with the Grammy award-winning Tex-Mex sounds of Los Lonely Boys. This trio of brothers is heading into their first-ever Canadian tour and we welcome them to our stage with their funky, blues- jam style See and hear legendary Grammy and Rock 'n Roll Hall of Famers, The Funk Brothers, Motown's unsung heroes, who have played on more #1 albums than the Beatles, Elvis, The Rolling Stones, and the Beach Boys combined. As the back beat and creators of the Hitsville's sound, we salute them on this 50th anniversary of Motown. On Saturday, July 18, one of America's greatest songwriters Steve Earle will be on the big stage. Earle has been called the Outlaw Poet, a Hardcore Troubadour and, has won 2 Grammys and has been nominated for thirteen more. Earle wrote songs for, and appeared in several hit movies; Talledaga Nights, Brokeback Mountain, and has written and recorded with Sheryl Crow, Johnny Cash, Patti Smith and countless others. Bluesfest is excited to bring a Rolling Stone, Mick Taylor to Windsor. Taylor started his career at 16, when he filled in for Eric Clapton during a John Mayall Blues Breakers UK show. Later, he replaced Peter Green as a full-l fledged Blues Breaker. In 1969, Taylor (while still a teenager) replaced Brian Jones, joining the Stones on their biggest albums; Let it Bleed, Sticky Fingers, Exile on Main Street, Goats Head Soup and Its Only Rock & Roll. Murray McLauchlan, a Canadian Jewel and 13- time Juno award-winner has 18 albums to his credit, as well as a 1993 appointment to the Order of Canada for his passionate Canadian attitude and song-writing ability. Murray is a multi-talented vocalist, song-writer and, he has played in virtually every concert hall in Canada. Closing the show Sunday is Blues Foundation Hall of Famer and two-time Grammy winner Johnny Winter. For over 40 year, Winter has been hailed as a guitar-hero without equal. Supporting the headliners are: Devon Allman's Honeytribe, David Gogo, Bill the "Sauce Boss" Wharton, Sab with David Rotundo & Robin Hawkins, Howling Diablos wsg, The Pazman, The Dylan Tree, Teddy Richards and Root Doctor. Ted Boomer, Bluesfest producer and winner of the Blues Foundation's 2006, Promoter of the Year Award notes, "There's a whole list of other notables in the line-up and they will be posted on the website. No one is going to be disappointed in this year's schedule of events.
