| Jazz Education in New York City The New York Jazz Workshop announces the creation of a new structure to provide affordable Jazz education in New York City. Starting with 3 jazz workshops in August 2009, the New York Jazz Workshop will offer ongoing classes for adults and young adults starting in September. The New York Jazz Workshop faculty is comprised of many well know jazz musicians such as the leader of the group Global Motion, tenor sax player and composer Marc Mommas, drummer Tony Moreno, Guitarists Vic Juris and Rez Abbasi, composer and longtime Dizzie Gillespie's musical director Mike Longo, singer Hilary Gardner and many others. The 3 Summer workshops currently scheduled are: Improvisation and Composition - from August 6 through 9, 2009 Vocal Workshop from August - 20 through 23rd, 2009 Guitar Workshop from August - 27 through 30th, 2009 The cost for each 3 day intensive workshop is $575 with a 10% reduction for students.
