| Anguillian diva Jaine Rogers debuts her new CD "Under Your Skin" Singer/songwriter Jaine Rogers is a unique twist of Neo-Soul/R&B and Soft Jazz. Her love for jazz was born the first time she heard Nat King Cole's "When I fall in Love". She found his gentle, uncomplicated, yet sincere delivery of a lyric reminiscent of the music of her childhood. This introduction sent her on a quest to find more of the same open, sometimes bare, heart-felt expression evident in the music of jazz classics and this was instrumental in developing her style and interpretation of these classics and contemporary songs that can be heard today. Her first opportunity to perform jazz came in 1999 when she was asked by the founder of the Sunshine Theatre Company, Mr Felix Fleming, to serenade an awardee at the Annual Awards Ceremony. Encouraged by her family, she agreed and it was then that she first met and sang with keyboardist Robert 'Bobcat' Rieman alongside whom she began to perform regularly at hotel dinner engagements. This experience significantly increased her repertoire and confidence in her art. By 2003, having begun to make a name for herself as a vocalist, Jaine was invited by entrepreneur and philanthropist Mr. Davon Carty to be a part of a music initiative which sought to create living, breathing music that would bring out the essence of human emotion, without being confined to a genre. She readily agreed and combined her deep, emotive vocals with Mr. Carty's visionary production techniques, the arrangements of Ash Hodge and the musical experience of well-known regional musicians, including "Third World" guitarist / cellist Steven "Cat" Coore and bassist Benjy Myaz. What resulted was the first venture of the Anguilla Music Publishing and Production (AMPP) Company. The music from this collaboration set the stage for Jaine to perform at various music venues within the Eastern Caribbean where her vivid transformation from unassuming observer to beguiling performer has been witnessed by many. During 2006 she performed at Bankie Banx Reggae Moonsplash and her performance was described as "…not for the weak-hearted. Jaine sings with an intensity that raises goosebumps, quickens the heartbeat and transports you into the world of the song and the soul of the singer." The Anguillian Newspaper February 2006. In September of the same year she was privileged to perform during the Caribbean Festival of Music and Arts (CARIFESTA) in Trinidad and Tobago in front of a diverse audience of seasoned and up-coming artists, scholars and performers from the Caribbean region. On May 4, 2008, Anguillian diva Jaine Rogers was Special Guest among a constellation of stars that thrilled patrons at the world famous Radio City Music Hall in New York City. Jaine opened the show for a lineup of living legends namely, Diana Ross, Gladys Knight, Patti Labelle and Chaka Khan. Bernie Williams, New York Yankees superstar who released his debut album in 2003, hosted the two sold out shows. The event, dubbed "Divas with Heart, " was the 50th anniversary benefit concert for the Masonic Medical Research Laboratory (MMRL). One year later, Jaine Rogers releases back to back hit neo soul/jazz masterpieces including her own composition titled Ah Love.
