Eddie Skuller Masters His New CD

Eddie Skuller's new album "The Morphine Berry Story" was recently mastered at Tangerine Mastering by Andreas Meyer. Recorded in Hoboken without a bass guitar, this alternative blues album features duel drumming by Marco Giovino and Ted Lyons, and guitar/harmonica from James Mastro."The Morphine Berry Story" was produced by James Mastro (Amy Speace, Ian Hunter, Health & Happiness Show) and recorded at "The Pidgeon Club" in Hoboken by Wayne Dorell. Andreas Meyer mastered nine original new tunes plus a fiery version of a song written by blues legend John Lee Hooker. Andreas used Tangerines vintage analog EMI mastering compressors and EQ to enhance the edgy blues flare of the project. Skuller sat in at all mastering sessions along with producer James Mastro. Andreas Meyer used Tangerine's Pyramix 6 system to produce and edit the final PMCD.

"this collection of blues songs has a moody, late-night ambiance. He sustains a remarkable degree of intensity " -THE STAR LEDGER - Jay Lustig

"Skuller conjures a haunted atmosphere of melancholy introspection. Too savvy to try to sound like an delta bluesman, Skuller instead personalizes the form, bending it to his will - bigtakeover.com - Michael Toland

"Skuller's pain is the listener's joy... Blues prides itself on torture and exorcism - the grim journey of sin, regret, and burdensome living. The Morphine Berry Story carves its own road with these austere elements, and Eddie Skuller is right out front as the funereal bandleader. In this case, the mourning is welcome and never overwrought. - "MUZIKREVIEWS.COM - Kevin Liedel
