Sam Ash Celebrates 50th Anniversary of the Gibson Les Paul

Sam Ash, the music megastore announced today an exclusive special appearance by the father of the electric guitar himself, Les Paul, on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, at 6 p.m. in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Gibson Les Paul guitar. Les Paul is an American jazz guitarist and inventor whose name has become synonymous with the famous Gibson Guitar model. He is a pioneer in the development of the solid-body electric guitar which made the sound of rock and roll possible. His many recording innovations include overdubbing, delay effects such as sound on sound, tape delay, phasing effects and multi-track recording. This year celebrates 50 years of the famous Gibson Les Paul guitar which is played by such musical icons as Jimmy Page, U2's the Edge, Aerosmith's Joe Perry, Slash, Richie Sambora and many more. To this day the Gibson Les Paul guitar is used all over the world by both novice and professional guitarists and has become the standard for the world's greatest performances.

The Sam Ash tour kicked off on April 15th, 2009 in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and will end on May 29, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia. Celebrity appearances have been scheduled throughout the tour but nothing matches the excitement sure to surround the visit from Les Paul in Paramus, New Jersey, at E-50 Rte 4. Throughout the tour Gibson and Epiphone clinicians will continue to arrive at each Sam Ash location aboard the exclusive Gibson tour bus. Consumers will have the chance to experience interactive sessions with guitarists who have played on stages around the world, learn special Gibson and Epiphone guitar tricks, share information on your favorite guitar and enter to win an Epiphone Alley Kat guitar. The first 50 guest to arrive at each location will qualify for a free string change and care session by a certified Gibson/Epiphone specialist. The tour continues on from New Haven, Conneticut on through the end date of May 29, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia.
