| Chicago Jazz Ensemble Seeks Full-time Executive Director The Chicago Jazz Ensemble, in residence at Columbia College Chicago, announces its search for an Executive Director. Richard Dunscomb, who has held the position for the past two years, will remain as Chairperson of the Music Department of CCC and will continue to interact regularly with the orchestra. The CJE Executive Director, which is a full-time position, reports to the Dean of the Office of Academic Research and the Library. The administrator selected for the position will be responsible for the organization, administration, operation and evaluation of the orchestra. The Executive Director will work in cooperation with Jon Faddis, The CJE's Artistic Director, to implement the artistic vision of the orchestra, including coordinating music programs and guest artists. Additional duties include: serving as the community, national and international liaison; developing and supervising strategic planning, management and communications; and overseeing budget, marketing and financial operations and fundraising development efforts. The Executive Director candidate should hold a Masters or higher degree, or comparable professional experience and demonstrate successful senior administrative, managerial, budgetary, and supervisory experience with demonstrated experience in arts management and fundraising. "While I thoroughly enjoy working with The CJE, I am looking forward to once again fully devoting my time to the Music Department, " said Dunscomb. "The CJE is a wonderful orchestra made up of brilliant musicians, and the Executive Director is a remarkable job for a senior administrator who possesses knowledge of Jazz and the music industry with a solid understanding of new technologies in music and the arts."
