Rock music legend, Joe Cocker to perform at the Inn on Thursday, June 11, 2009. English rock and blues singer, Joe Cocker, has become internationally recognized as one of the greatest rock voices of all time. Known for his gritty voice and hit cover song remakes, Cocker's popularity began in the 1960's when he released his first single, a remake of the Beatles' "I'll Cry Instead."

In the early 1980's Cocker was invited by The Crusaders to join on a song that was written especially for him, entitled "I'm So Glad I'm Standing Here Today." He then went on to record the duet, "Up Where We Belong, " with Jennifer Warnes for the film "An Officer and a Gentleman." The song became an international hit, soaring to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and earning a Grammy Award, an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award in 1983. Known as an outstanding performer, Cocker has sung at many memorable events including President George W. Bush's inauguration, a televised tribute to the great Ray Charles and numerous high-profile award shows.
