| Jazz/New Age Musician Adam Zuniga Debuts New Album Once in a lifetime, an artist knows that they put out the ultimate album that truly captures the passion, spirit and emotions deep within their soul. For local instrumental musician Adam Zuniga, this album has just been released and Echoes & Light is truly his inspirational album for all time. "I finally feel like I have created an album that truly holds elements of me, who I am and the music that represents me, " Zuniga said. "I put a lot of work into these songs and I am very pleased that they are a distinct representation of my musical career." A guitarist who fuses a number of different musical genres from jazz and new age to Latin and ambient, Zuniga finds inspirations in his guitar that lead him to music. "I grew up in Texas and my music is truly a representation of many of the different cultures and styles evident in The Lone Star State, " he said. "I actually started briefly studying the piano at the University of Texas at San Antonio, but ultimately settled on the guitar as my instrument of choice." Zuniga wrote and played most of the instruments on Echoes & Light, his first full-length album to really show off his talents. The most popular song on the album among his fans is "Walking In This World" which shows his deep emotion and classic guitar style. "It is also one of my favorite songs on the album, " he said. "It was very inspiring to write and perform, especially in front of my fans." He's also released a brand new video for the songs "Walking In This World" and "City Lights", which is now available on his webpage at www.adamzuniga.com and on YouTube. Zuniga has performances scheduled for 6:00 p.m. April 12 at Paesanos 1604 – located at 3622 Paesanos Parkway, right off of Loop 1604 – and at 11:30 a.m. on April 13 at Main Plaza – located at 115 North Main Avenue near the River Walk. When not focusing on his solo career, Zuniga also plays guitar for the eight-piece Latin group Grupo Geno. A blend of the Gypsy Kings and Carlos Santana, the flamenco-style band has been a locals favorite for years. They are in work on their own group album as well. write your comments about the article :: © 2009 Jazz News :: home page |
