Paolo Nutini Unveils "Sunny Side Up"

Atlantic recording artist Paolo Nutini has announced early details of his eagerly awaited second album. "Sunny Side Up" - which follows the Scottish-born singer/songwriter's acclaimed 2007 debut, "These Streets" - arrives in stores and at all digital retailers on June 2nd.

"SUNNY SIDE UP" will be preceded by the first single, "Candy, " which is due to impact at Triple A radio outlets nationwide in mid-April. Nutini and his band, The Vipers, will herald the album's arrival with a live performance at the upcoming Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, California, set for Saturday, April 18th. In addition, Paolo has slated a number of other April dates, including a free show at San Diego's Del Mar Plaza on April 19th. Furthermore, Nutini and The Vipers will perform at a number of Earth Day-related events around the Pacific Northwest, with shows in Portland, Boise, Spokane, and Seattle. Joining Paolo Nutini on the upcoming schedule will be fellow Atlantic Recording artist Serena Ryder. (see below itinerary). A full-scale North American tour will be announced shortly.

Produced by Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Ryan Adams, Ray LaMontagne), "SUNNY SIDE UP" sees Nutini continuing to mine his arresting brand of soulful modern pop. Songs such as "Ten Out Of Ten" and "Coming Up Easy" display the gifted tunesmith's ever-growing knack for irrepressible melodies melded with insightful and intimate lyricism, all held together by Paolo's gritty and unpredictable vocal stylings.

In other news, Paolo recently teamed up with Sir Mick Jagger and Academy Award-winner Ben Affleck for a short film benefitting the UN Refugee Agency's emergency humanitarian efforts in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Entitled "Gimme Shelter, " the documentary sets footage of the strife-torn DRC - filmed by renowned cinematographer John Toll - against Nutini's extraordinary new version of the classic Rolling Stones title track.

Named as a "You Oughta Know" artist by VH1 and one of Rolling Stone's "10 Artists To Watch, " Nutini burst into the spotlight as one of 2006's most acclaimed new singer/songwriters. "THESE STREETS" proved an international phenomenon upon its initial release, earning the Paisley, Scotland-born troubadour a cornucopia of critical praise and total worldwide sales in excess of two million. The album - which yielded three top 10 Triple A hits, including "New Shoes" and "Last Request" - was among the best-received debuts of 2007, receiving three-and-a-half stars from both People and USA Today, with the latter hailing, "It's been a while since a youthful pop upstart revealed the breadth of talent that... Nutini shows." The New York Daily News noted that "voices like Nutini's come around just a few times in a generation."

A uniquely charismatic live performer, Nutini toured nearly non-stop following the release of "THESE STREETS, " headlining countless shows and appeared at some of the world's biggest festivals, including Live Earth, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival, Glastonbury, T In The Park, Montreaux Jazz Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, V Festival, and the Isle of Wight Festival 2007 - where Paolo dueted with Mick Jagger on "Love In Vain" during The Rolling Stones' festival-closing set. What's more, Nutini served as support act on one of the biggest concerts in recent memory - Led Zeppelin's now-legendary 2007 reunion show at London's O2 Arena, benefitting the Ahmet Ertegun Education Fund. He has since shared stages with a range of other musical icons, including a 2008 soul spectacular at Los Angeles' Hollywood Bowl which saw Paolo more than holding his own alongside Rock and Roll Hall of Fame members Etta James and Solomon Burke.

In addition, Nutini has also performed live on a wide array of high-profile national television programs, including NBC's "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, " "Late Show with Conan O'Brien, " and "The Today Show"; ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"; and two visits to his fellow Scotsman Craig Ferguson's nightly CBS talker, "Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson." Moreover, Paolo's songs have been featured in such network series as ABC's "Grey's Anatomy" and The CW's "One Tree Hill."
