Herb Alpert, legendary musician and record executive, and internationally renowned singer Lani Hall are circling back to Boston after successful club appearances last year elevated the husband and wife team to theaters for a new tour with Brazilian and American jazz and popular standards. Berklee College of Music presents Alpert and Hall on April 22 at the Berklee Performance Center, 136 Massachusetts Avenue, Boston. A trio of top-flight musicians - Bill Cantos (piano), Michael Shapiro (drums), and Hussain Jiffrey (bass) – will accompany them.

Alpert is a rare music industry figure with huge success as a performer and executive. Alpert's distinctive trumpet playing has earned him five #1 hits, eight Grammy Awards, 15 Gold and 14 Platinum albums. Herb Alpert and The Tijuana Brass propelled Latino music into the pop music limelight, at one point outselling The Beatles two-to-one.

Alpert's cultural impact is made not just by his playing, but from the sounds on A&M Records, with acts such as The Carpenters, Carole King, Peter Frampton, the Police, the Go-Go's, Janet Jackson, and Sheryl Crow, among many other million-selling artists.

Hall was the vocalist of Bossa Nova master Sergio Mendes' group Brasil '66. It was a worldwide success, topping the charts with the Brazilian tune "Mais Que Nada, " among many others. A successful solo career saw the release of more than a dozen albums recorded in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, and she won a Grammy for Best Latin Pop Performance for 1985's Es Facil Amar. Hall recorded the theme for the 1983 James Bond film Never Say Never Again.
